

Born on August 28th, 1990, in Houston, Texas.
Brett excelled at being a soldier. After enlisting, he proved himself to be an exceptional leader and peer. He was a proud Army Ranger, serving his country, in a short but distinguished career. Numerous stories were told of his character, honor and courage in the fight for the freedoms afforded to all of us.
He graduated high school, with many friends, from Mayde Creek and went on to start college at the University of Houston. He was an outstanding athlete, notably in swimming and wrestling.
Brett’s legacy lives on, with his generosity of spirit, through his choice to be an organ, tissue and bone donor.
Brett is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Erica Jane Manuel; beloved by parents, Patricia Anne Dillon, Bradly Scott Manuel and Maltie Claire Manuel; brother, Matthew Manuel; grandparents, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Louise Dillon, and grandfather, Vern Edward Manuel.
Visitation: Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston 77079 on Monday, December 10, 2012, from 4-7pm with a rosary to follow.
Mass: Saint John Vianney, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, 77079 on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 10:30am.
Brett will be laid to rest with full military honors at the Houston National Cemetery on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 1:00pm.
The family will hold a reception to celebrate Brett’s life, directly following the burial, at The Nottingham Forest Club, 325 Kickerillo Dr, Houston 77079
