Hey uncle Robert, I know it took me a while to finally put something....truth is I don’t know what to put or how to express the way I feel about this situation. I know your gone but I can’t except it, I know god took you to a better place but I don’t want to believe it. Why did he chose you... I think to myself. We thought you were going to be the person that out lives everybody...when you came to Houston we would all have a great time together, we laughed, made fun of each other, and just had fun like a family . I wish this wasn’t true, but I can say god gained a true angel, you will TRUELY be missed, I wanted to keep this short so I’ll conclude this by saying I love you from the bottom of my heart all the way to the top❤️, rest up uncle! ~ Your  2nd niece M’Kailynn :) 

To my baby brother Robert; My heart still hurts & my eyes are filled with tears. I don't know why God took you from me, but he makes no mistakes and he takes nothing but the best. This feels like a terrible dream, everyday I think to myself my brother is not gone..he's going to call, I'll hear his voice again, but I know you went to meet momma and John. It pains me to know I am now alone.It was us against the world, now it's just me. John left us on February 18,2006,then momma left us on October 19,2007, then you left me November 19,2020 I know you are all watching over me, I think about you all everyday, all day.I miss your voice, I miss your presence, I miss the way we laughed and joked with eachother,I miss your smile.Everytime you came to Houston you always lit up the room, we would go to parties and I would some how always end up being the designated driver. We argued, we fought, but at the end of the day it was just us against the world. When you came to visit me and the kids knew we was going to have a good time together, you always told me, "you never cook" "what's in here to eat" and I would say "I got some coke soda for you". Then we would laugh and talk for a while. I miss you all, save me a place in heaven but I'm not ready. I love you all forever❤❤ - Your sister Kelly Lechelle Pickard Mccants.

Robert and I worked together at IBM in Atlanta. There could never have been a better friend. He was always a joy to be around.  I will miss him so very much! May God bless you, his family and friends. 

I worked with Robert at IBM. I missed him when he left Atlanta and now I will truly miss him even more. He was a funny and cool guy and was always made me laugh. RIP my friend.  

I am saddened to hear of the passing of my good friend Robert. We worked together at IBM for many years and developed an awesome friendship. We always kept in touch with each other once he moved back to Texas from Atlanta. I heard from him a few months ago and we always wanted to get together when he was in town but we just never did. I hated that and will regret not doing so. One great memory I will always have of him (besides his great laugh) is about boudin sausage. I had never heard of it until he shared some with me one day at work. Since then I buy it and eat it all the time. I will miss you my brother. 

I worked with Robert for several years and always found him engaging, professional and pretty darn funny. He was always a positive influence to his co-workers and clients. He will be missed , our condolences to his family during this trying time. 

My Uncle. My Heart. It pains me to know that I have to live the rest of my life without you. Denial is not even close to how I’m feeling. I know that I have to accept that you’re gone, but God it doesn’t make the pain easier for me. Everyone is gone. My mom only had you and now your gone. We were all we had. You used to always say that Uncle John was our favorite Uncle and you were the mean one, but that was far from the truth. The love I had for you both had no limit on it and I could never divide it between the two because I loved you both more than equally. Uncle John never had children of his own and was never married so he needed to be loved on a little bit more, but it was the same. You required structure and you were the father figure to us. I’ll always remember the summers we spent in Atlanta with you and all the places you took us. You always made sure to plan out activities for us. We’d have so much fun until we’d get in trouble and you’d start handing out whoopings and I’d call my mama ready to go home lol. Elise always took the whooping for me and her lol. And my mama would call threatening you saying you bet not touch my child and send me the first ticket back home lol. I’ll never forget the time Elise and I called ourselves washing your clothes and bleaching all of your white linens because Elise said we was supposed to add bleach. We all know how you were about your white linen so you know I called my mama about a flight back to Houston lol. All I have is good memories and laughs. As I got older you became not just an Uncle, but like a father and the person I vented to about just anything I was going threw. I’m going to miss that. I don’t know how to accept that my Uncle is gone because you were the one person that I felt would always be here. Your name and you being gone doesn’t even seem right in the same sentence. God makes no mistakes and I’ve always believed that when we’re placed on this earth our story is already written. I love you always.

I met you and Robert in homeroom at Jesse H. Jones HS.  I am still hurting over this. You and your family are in my prayers. Robert has done so much for me, checked on me and he always had something good and encouraging to say.

Robert did so much for the class of 83. 
Things will not be the same.  He is gone but will never be forgotten. Remember the good times.  Lord have mercy. My classmate.

I met Robert so many years ago at IBM.  And I didn't consider Robert as a co-worker but family. 
We were two peas in a pod.  I loved hanging out after work, going to tailgates and  bowling with him.  Robert was a wonderful dad and great friend.  I will never forget when I needed a friend for a formal event.  Robert volunteered at the last minute, put on suit and tie with a smile; he was there.   Robert was very dear to my heart.   He brought joy, happiness and laughter to all who met him; you will be sorely missed by everyone.  Rest in peace my friend, love always❤🙏🏽

My Ridgegate homie.  Way to many memories to share.   This hurts to the core.   We remained friends to the end.  We had our kids.  Talked about them growing up and maturing into adults.  We talked about moving back to Houston after our careers moved us away.  We always laughed about the kitchen fire.  

Don’t know why God decided to take you away from us so soon but my comfort is knowing you are in a better place and he makes no mistakes.

We never expect to lose the people we love, even to death, but we will meet again in God’s Kingdom someday soon. This is certainly the case for me, as we lay to rest my dear and loving nephew.  After the loss of his mother, my sister Kelly, Robert and I shared so much about our lives, mutual passions for family, career aspirations and more importantly our experiences as parents and grandparents.  It is so funny how much we came to realize that our relationship as his aunt (aka Auntie Cherylin) and he my nephew, we’d traveled down similar life learning paths and we’d managed to succeed in achieving many of life's goals.  Rest assured that his love and candor will forever continue in all those that came to know him.   His memory and thirst for living, leaves an indelible imprint in me and my family’s hearts.”  Rest in peace dear nephew.

I remember every party or wedding in the family you were always there. Sometimes it would be a while since I had seen you but we would pick up right where we left off.  I will miss you.

I met Robert  through  my sister  Sophia  Sutton  Robert was one of the  sweetest person I ever have know he always had a  kind word for everyone and don't  forget  that smile REST EASY MY FRIEND AND MY FAMILY  NEVER GOOD BYE SEE YOU LATER 

I met Robert through my husband Andrew.  From day one he welcomed me as a friend.  He made me smile, even if I didn’t want to.  I am blessed to have known him.   He will be missed dearly.  Praying for comfort for Elise, Phillip, and the family.  

Wow this so mind blowing my heart is full of sadness and joy at the same time to have known you as my first cousin and friend. You truly were the life of the party. I will miss you and I love you. To Allah (God) we come from and to Allah (God) we return.  Blessing to all you love ones Ameen!

Robert, Robert was my friend from Jones High School.   I enjoyed going to  Jones reunions cause I knew Robert's glowing face and his Big Personality would be there and I looked forward to seeing him!!

Your passing has truly been unexpected and has had a significant impact on the lives of so many. I remember the last time we spent laughing and catching up. I will keep that memory. Robert, my friend, my brother, my classmate. There are no words to express the pain that my heart is feeling. I will miss your laughter your friendship your kindness your warm heart. What can I say about this loving, warm hearted man that hasn't already been said? It's like the earth stood still when I heard the news, it still seems so surreal. I like many others have know Robert for many, many years. Not only was Robert a classmate he was also a friend with a huge smile and a beautiful personality. I will truly miss my friend on this side of life. Your physical body is gone but your spirit will forever live on. Until we meet again rest well my friend, rest well!! 

I used to spend summers in Atlanta with my Uncle Robert and my cousins Elise and Phillip. He used to take us to Six flags over Georgia and everything. I love my uncle Robert and he was the coolest person ever. He lived life and enjoyed life to the fullest. I’m gonna miss you Unc and I love you! I know u up there rolling with the top down in the Beamer! 

Robert and his two siblings were our childhood friends in the mid 70’s. He was an amazing friend! Robert was smart, filled with humor, wit, and personality. He was a gentle giant who cared deeply about God, family, education, and his career. The Dotson family will miss you. We will hold on to the memories of countless street dodge ball, kick ball, and soft ball games; memories of sitting on that large stone behind the fence of Jones High School in the late 70’s, watching the Falcon band. To his loving and courageous sister “Lechelle”, you are part of our neighborhood family unit. We are here for you.

Robert and I became instant brothers about 25 years ago and never looked back. He was one of my groomsman and one of the most genuine, outgoing, dedicated and loving friend you could ever hope for. 
I spoke with my friend several times during the week of his homegoing  and we shared our last heartfelt goodbye ,“ I love you brother “and “ I love you too brother “

We first  met when you were a 7th grader , following  your beloved sister, Kelly around the school, and that was my first year at Attucks Junior High School. Over the  span of our lifetime, I have such wonderful memories, from you as a boy, to your entering into manhood.

Robert was my neighbor and friend! We lived on Peachtree  rd in the same condos and we would cook together & sit on each other’s patio and  sip mimosas! I’m shocked & saddened to learn of his passing. He was light and gone to soon! My deepest condolences to other friends and especially his family! 

I met Robert when I was 13 years old thru his sister Kelly and I couldn't stand him.  We all walked home together and he would tease me daily about my big butt.  I didn't see him again until around 1985 when I started working at Zener Electronics where he also worked at the time.  We developed a close relationship and we became thick as thieves from that day forward.  Words just can't express what I am feeling about the loss of my brother from another mother.  We had our ups and downs but never stop loving each other..  He took my secrets to his grave and I will do the same.  Rest in peace my brother until we meet again.  Gone but never forgotten.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Robert family during this trying time. I had the pleasure to meet and work with Robert at IBM for close to 10 years. Robert was kind and polite. We would talk about Football and share some good laughs about our teams. Robert always had a jolly attitude and would bring his beaming personality to work every day. Robert will be missed, My sincerest condolences. 

I am truly saddened to hear the passing of my great Friend Robert Pickard! He had the biggest Heart, the widest Smile, and Character to match :) , We shared and  enjoyed many many laughs, tears and conversations throughout the years. He wore many hats, He was a Father, a Brother, a GrandPa, a Cousin, and a Son, But to me, he was My Friend. 
My Condolences and Prayers are with his Children and Grandchildren, whom he Adored.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing if Robert.  I got a chance to meet him through bowling.  He was a great cook and prepared food for us from time to time.  He just wouldn't share that jambalaya recipe.

My God, My God, My God! Give me the strength! My brother, My cousin, My friend! From the same neighborhood, between  Jutland and Calhoun.   You're on Longmeadow and I'm on Van Fleet. Started out from the 2nd grade on up. Our mom's, yours Kay Kay (RIP) mine Ms Bee (83) did a pretty good job...huh. My mom's still remembers how she use to put you out of her house on a daily...She also remembers how somehow you got right back in...lol. Nevertheless, my heart is broken 💔

Philip &  PJ and Elise & KJ can now build on your dynasty. The way you love, cared and supported your kids and grandkids. We talked about often. You adored your babies and would climb any mountain for them.  Again, my heart is broken. But I'm ok. Ok because you've gained your wings and ascended to Heaven.

I worked with Robert at IBM for many years, he became a friend and I enjoyed working with him. My condolences to the family and know he will be missed.

Robert was such a sweet soul. He showed himself friendly from the first time I met him, and has been the same sweet person every since. He will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences goes out to his entire family.

I went to High School with Robert, I last saw him at a Class of 1983 reunion a year or so ago, he was so sweet and helpful to me.  As I look through the high school Facebook page you can see the Joy in his heart and when you speak to him you can feel his happiness.  RIH my brother you are deeply missed.
