Robert "Bob" William Roth, 58, of Houston, Texas, passed away on August 17, 2026. Born on November 25, 1967, in Rahway, New Jersey, to Charles and Eleanor Roth. Bob lived briefly in Florida before moving to Houston in 1980, the city he would proudly call his permanent home.
Bob graduated from William P. Clements High School in 1986. He attended Stephen F. Austin University and later graduated from the University of Houston in 1994 with a degree in Computer Science. A dedicated professional who truly loved his job as a software developer, Bob spent the early years of his career writing code for various companies. His talent and loyalty eventually led him to Liquid Frameworks, where he spent 18 years making an impactful contribution. Beyond his professional achievement, Bob had a gift for connection; he made many lifelong friendships. His close circle of friends stood by him as a pillar of strength, fully supporting him until the very end.
Bob was a man who truly loved making people smile, and he could always be counted on to crack a well-timed joke. He was a talented artist and a man of many hobbies—he found great joy in fishing, camping, snow skiing, cooking, and discovering new flavors of craft beer. During the holidays, he channeled his culinary talents into baking delicious Christmas stollens. He lovingly gifted them to friends and family so they could enjoy a sweet treat on Christmas Day, with his final holiday count reaching an impressive 24 stollens.
While Bob had many passions, his absolute truest passion was his daughters. He was an incredibly proud and active father, coaching them when they were little, supporting their volleyball games, and joining them in community service. He cherished their annual traditions, from taking their hallmark pictures together in the Texas bluebonnet fields every spring, to making summer treks up to Maine to visit their grandparents.
Bob is survived by his beloved daughters, Sarah and Sadie Roth; his step-son, Evan Zeek; his devoted parents, Charles and Eleanor Roth; his brother, Richard Roth; and his sweet, faithful border collie, Molly.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 5:00 pm at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek, 9149 Hwy 6 N, Houston, TX 77095. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Disabled American Veterans.
