Saturday, July 4, 2020. Robert was able to spend his last moments at his
home with his Beloved wife, Connie Scheigert, and his children by his
side.
Robert was born on October 28,1946, in Tucson, Arizona, to Delbert and
Eleanor Scheigert. Robert graduated from Catalina High School in 1964,
then went on to attend the University of Arizona with a degree in
Horticulture.
Robert had such a passionate love for fried chicken and he could often be
found at the Lucky Wishbone in Tucson, Arizona. Over the years, Robert
became such a frequent customer, not only did he know the best time to
eat “The Bones” chicken based on the renewal schedule of the grease in
their deep fryers, but Robert was also awarded Honorary Customer. They
awarded him with his own special shirt and cap. Lucky Wishbone chicken
was one of the things he missed the most when he moved to Texas.
Robert has always had a deep love for music. He was an adept drummer
and was a member of a band called “The Night Sounds," which later
called themselves “The Smoke.” His band had the privilege of touring
with, and opening for “The Doors” for nine years. Robert loved going to
concerts and was able to frequently enjoy them his entire life.
Robert worked as a salesman consultant for many years and worked for
American Furniture, Service Merchandise, and Auchan. He spent years as
an Electronics Buyer and worked in the Cellphone Industry when
cellphones first became popular. Later in his life, Robert really had a
proficiency when it came to the Stock Market. He had a very successful
career managing many of his own stocks until he decided to retire and
simply enjoy life.
On April 24, 1978, Robert became the proud father of Kimberlei Scheigert.
Kimberlei and her dad loved spending time together and one of Kimberlei’s
earliest and best memories was Robert teaching her how to fish. Her very
first fish she ever caught with her dad was on the Red River, and the fish
was so big that it completely broke the line. Robert loved and adored
Kimberlei and they often took adventurous trips together, which even
included going skydiving together when Kimberlei turned eighteen!
In May of 1998, Robert met the love of his life, Connie. They immediately
connected and enjoyed spending time together. Robert and Connie were
married on the beautiful island of St. Croix, surrounded by friends and
family on July 9, 2002. Robert cherished his wife and treated her like a
queen. The two began to travel the world and went to so many fun and
exotic places. They rode elephants in Thailand, traveled the Orient
Express, enjoyed the white sandy beaches of Tahiti, and loved going on all
different types of cruises.
Robert always had such a generous spirit, and often helped people and
family in their time of need. He enjoyed giving to people, not only to help
them, but sometimes “just because.” Robert also donated to many
foundations including Guilding Eyes for the Blind, MD Anderson Cancer
Center, Chimp Haven, Inc., Alzheimer’s Association, and American Cancer
Society.
He was predeceased by his parents, Delbert and Eleanor Scheigert. Robert
is survived by his brother Delbert F. Scheigert, Jr., sister-in-law Debbie
Scheigert, his loving wife Connie Scheirgert, his daughters Kimberlei
Scheigert, Angee Kulhanek, Kimberly Willingham, his son-in-law Daniel
Willingham, and grandchildren Ashley Kulhanek, Brooke Kulhanek, Blake
Kulhanek, Aaron Kulhanek, McKayla Adams, Rush Joskowitz, Seth
Joskowitz, Kinley Willingham, Cole Willingham, Savion Willingham, Danna
Willingham, Caleb Willingham, Clara Willingham, and William Willingham.
He is also survived by his mother-in-law Billie Bouldin, brother-in-law
Randy Moss, niece Tiffany Hosterman, and nephew Nathan Scheigert.
He will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Robert will forever be remembered by his fierce love for his family,
generosity, sense of humor, and unconditional love. Although our hearts
are heavy, we will celebrate his life and take comfort in the many wonderful
memories he gave to us all.
All are welcome to celebrate the life of Robert William Scheigert on Friday
