

Robert Paul St. Julien was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, May 15, 1948 to the late Lucille St. Julien. He graduated from Jack Yates High School in 1966. He was then drafted into the Army, upon completion of his tour of duty he received an Honorable discharge, with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal. Later he went on to complete two years of college at Prairie View A&M University. In the midst of working, he managed to fall in love with and married Betty Jean Freeman of 42 years. Mr. Robert or Grampa, as he has been affectionately known to many, dedicated his life to helping others, especially his family. Robert's lifelong hobbies included fishing, music, and telling great jokes to keep the family laughing. He was very passionate about his family. He was preceded in death by his mother Lucille St. Julien and a son- Rodney Wayne Freeman. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Betty Jean St. Julien; three daughters, LaWunder Perkins, Faye Freeman, Frances Freeman; one son, Jeffery Freeman, seven grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, family and friends.
