

Robert Lee Sult entered into eternal rest on March 30, 2016. Born to John Kelly Sult and Sarah Gertrude Coley in Pocahontas, VA on November 15, 1929, Bob attended college at University of Kentucky. Thereafter, he moved to Houston, TX in 1953 while serving proudly in the US Air Force, and remained an active member of the Reserves until his retirement in 1983 at the rank of Colonel. He married Myrle Ruth Niebes, whom he lovingly always referred to as his "bride", on June 12, 1954 with whom they had two sons.
During his career as a financial advisor, he was a Vice President with several notable firms, including Rotan Mosle, Inc., First of Texas, Inc., of which he was a founding shareholder, and Smith Barney. He was active in numerous industry trade groups and community organizations, including being Past President of the Kiwanis Club and a former Regent of the Church Corporation at Rice University. He was a member of Sagewood Country Club, Houston Racquet Club and the Houston Yacht Club.
For many years, he was active and held numerous leadership roles at The Church of St. John the Divine, including serving on the Diocesan Council and three terms on its Vestry. His commitment to his faith and numerous outreach ministries provided him much satisfaction, including The Military and Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Bob is survived by his two sons and their families: Robert Lee Sult, Jr. and his wife, Leigh, and John Raymond Sult, his wife Susan and their daughter, Sarah.
The family would especially like to recognize and thank Liza Talens, Brenda Morado and Josephine Olay for their loving care afforded Bob over the past several years.
A Memorial service will be held at eleven o'clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 13th of April at The Church of St. John the Divine, located at 2450 River Oaks Blvd., Houston, TX, officiated by The Rev. Dr. Douglas W. Richnow. A reception will immediately follow in Sumners Hall.
