ROGER R. BARRIENTOS entered a peaceful rest on the evening of Wednesday, March 17th, 2010. An incredibly loving, thoughtful and devoted father, grandfather, and uncle, he touched countless lives, and served as a pillar for his sons, Ryan & Jeremy Barrientos.
Roger was born January 21st, 1949 in Victoria, Texas to Robert C. Barrientos & Ellen Tinoco, two of the most dedicated and encouraging parents. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic Preparatory School in Victoria, with his brother, Robert, and cousins Adolph & Jesse Garza, as well as Vincent & Ignatius Ruiz. After moving to Houston, he excelled in Engineering at the University of Houston, and soon married his lovely wife, Linda Louise Salinas. Together, they enjoyed a fruitful life, where he established a successful career as a Structural Engineer. Roger carried an enormous amount of pride in his family, celebrating in travel, creativity and imagination. His love led him to a vibrant enjoyment of fatherhood, coaching basketball & baseball, supporting his sons in the Boy Scouts of America, and serving as a role model for friends & family alike.
His legacy of strength, personality, and candor is carried on by his sons Ryan Roger Barrientos, and Jeremy Roland Barrientos, as well as his beautiful grandson, Benjamin Ryan Barrientos. He celebrated a tremendous amount of pride in his nieces & nephews, including Brandon & Nicholas Barrientos, Augie, Gabriel & Paul Pedraza, as well as Cheri, Sean & Justin Villafranca. He is survived by his sisters, Martha Villafranca and Veronica Pedraza, as well as his brother, Robert Barrientos.
His smile, laughter, support and love will be missed for decades to come, but solace is obtained knowing he is finally home with his Father in Heaven.
