Roland Casares Pizzini

Roland C. Pizzini, passed away June 18, 2011. He was born on August 20, 1933 to Archie and Matilde Pizzini. He is preceded in death by his parents, legal guardian Margarita Pizzini, wife of 46 years Irma Parga Pizzini, and brother Simon M. Pizzini. He is survived by his children, Roland P. & Melissa Pizzini, Rolannette Pizzini & Richard Yabut, and Ann Margret Pizzini, grandchildren Celeste Maddalena Pizzini, Vincent Stasio, Marie Crystal Stasio, and Ian Michael Yabut, brothers and sister Archie Pizzini, Gilbert Pizzini, Joe Pizzini, and Cynthia Martinez, and fiancée Eva Cantu. Roland joined the US Air Force in 1951. A Korean War veteran, he served 15 months on Guam, was awarded an Honorable Discharge in 1954 with the rank of Staff Sergeant, and later served in the US Air Force and Army Reserves. He graduated from Aldine High School in1950, attended Trinity University in San Antonio in 1955, and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Houston in 1958. Roland spent over 22 years in procurement with oil well fishing tool manufacturing, heavy-walled pressure vessel and oil/gas /chemical engineering construction companies. He retired in 2005 after 21 years with the Internal Revenue Service. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Brookside Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be conducted Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 10:00 am at Brookside Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
