Ronald Arthur Ferrazzuolo

Ronald Ferrazzuolo, known professionally as Ron Parker to his colleagues and radio listeners, passed away peacefully on Friday the 28th of August at the age of 74. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ron was born in New York City to Esther Lax and Julius Ferrazzuolo. He attended Briarcliff High School in Atlanta, Georgia, class of 1970. Ron was also a University of Georgia graduate with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication, class of 1975. Ron loved Georgia football. Go Dawgs!

Listening to his transistor radio at an early age, Ron knew he wanted to have a career in radio. He obtained his FCC 3rd Class License at the age of fourteen and began his broadcasting career at the age of sixteen which spanned fifty-eight years. Ron held On-Air Personality, Program Director and Music Director positions in major radio markets. Atlanta and Athens, Georgia (WPLO FM, WDOL AM & FM, WRFC 960, WQXI AM & FM); Tampa and Miami, Florida (WLCY AM & FM, WINZ FM ZETA 4, WHYI Y-100, WCKX); Houston, Texas (KKBQ AM & FM, 107.5 KLDE, 107.5 K-hits); Phoenix, Arizona (Power 92 KKFR); Dallas, Texas (SMN ABC Radio Satellite Music Network); San Francisco, California (KFRC AM & FM); New York, New York (WCBS FM 101.1); Chicago, Illinois (94.7 WLS FM); and SiriusXM 60’s and 70’s.

Ron was inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2016 and the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame in 2019. Ron always said to follow your dreams, and he stated many times how thankful he was to have had a successful career in radio which he loved.

Outside of radio, Ron enjoyed traveling, entertaining friends, and telling fun stories. Ron had a wonderful sense of humor. No matter where he was working, home was truly where his heart was. He loved spending time with his wife, his many fur babies, cooking on the grill, having a glass of vino, chilling in the pool, enjoying life and the fruits of his labor.

Ron is survived by his wife Sandra; his brother Richard; sisters-in-law Janice Visinsky (Bill), and Laura Winslett (Darrell); nephew Brian Winslett (Shauntal); nieces Ashley Winslett and Renee Guillemette (Ethan); great nephew and niece Rhyder and Morrigan; and his lovable dog Sadie. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law Nancy Ferrazzuolo.

In accordance with Ron’s wishes, a private interment will be held for immediate family.
