Rosalee Marie Rodrigues also known as Petal was born on February 19, 1956 in Kingston, Jamaica to Rupert and Deloris Rodriques. She received her education at Trenchtown Comprehensive High School in Kingston, before migrating to the United States in 1972 at the age of 16 and residing with the family in Brooklyn, New York. While living there, she graduated from Bushwick High school and received an Associates Degree from Brooklyn College. Rosalee then worked for J.P. Morgan Chase in Manhattan and was a hard-working, diligent and exemplary employee who was always impeccably and neatly dressed with perfect color coordination.
In 1994, Rosalee moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she lived for a period of two years before moving and settling in Houston, Texas which has become her permanent home. While living in Houston, Rosalie worked for Member Works, Don McGill Toyota Katy and in the past 3 years she worked for T & J consulting Firm with her trademark of consistent work ethic.
Auntie Pepe received that name when her nephew Johnathan could not say Petals and that name has stuck with her ever since. Auntie Pepe was the “pied piper” of children, she loved them all, and they all loved her. She loved cooking and shopping and she was the best at both.
In 2001 Rosalie was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma. Super-abundant love from the family, constant and vigilant prayer, combined with her faith in God and her resilient and tenacious spirit, kept her as she walked through that valley from which she emerged victorious and remained in remission.
On July 18th, 2018, Aunty Pepe was called home to join the angels. She is preceded in death by her father Rupert Rodriguez, her mother Deloris Shaw, 3 aunts, 1 uncle, 1 nephew and both sets of grandparents. She leaves to mourn her, her stepfather Rollin Shaw, 7 sisters and 3 brothers, aunts, a host of nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, other family members and friends.
