Rosalind “Roz” Hillie finished her earthly work on the afternoon of May 20th 2020. She lived a fun, private life, but departed this world to receive her crown!

Roz was born on September 15, 1966 in Fort Polk, Louisiana to Willis J and Ruby Jean Wilson. She was THE middle child with one older brother, Willis J, Wilson, one older sister, Ruby Jessica Brown and two “baby” siblings, Retricia Jewel Ewekay and Wesley Jason Wilson. Roz graduated from Killeen High School in 1984 and went off into the working world to be a successful business owner and then moved on to become the Office Administrator for Deborah Hroch & Associates, L.L.C. and Karen Kramer & Associates Interior, respectively. Roz was an amazing asset to the above mentioned organizations and transformed those working relationships into family!

Roz was the mother to two biological children, Victor D. Brooks and Bianca N. Wright. She then joined Van Terry Hillie in holy matrimony on May 18th, 2013 and welcomed Porsha Hillie, Jeremiah HIllie, and Jon Kelly with open arms to complete her blended family. Roz was the grandmother “Grams” to Camdyn J. Brooks, Jada Brooks, and Micah Baines. You know how most of us often wonder if our parents loved us more than their grandchildren? Well, nevermind, she’s not here to defend herself.

Roz’s nieces and nephews: Kisha Nunez, Willis J Wilson lll, Cipriana Wilson, Nate and Nicholas Brown, Franklyn and Cydney Ewekay were pretty much treated like her grandchildren, “do you even STILL love ME?” Of course she did, she had the spirit of LOVING and GIVING down to a science! She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis J and Ruby Wilson, and her sister Ruby Jessica Brown.

There are no words to truly describe the level of emptiness and pain that we will experience without Roz in our lives. She was an amazing, selfless individual that loved hard and anything that she touched and was associated with was always better than when she found it.

She bowed out gracefully and will be on her new assignment to go ORGANIZE heaven so that when our numbers come up she’ll have all of the flatware facing in the same direction, EVERYTHING will be LABELED, the color coded hangers hanging, and the pantry contents in alphabetical order!

Thank you Roz for always being there for my sister Deborah. I remember meeting you for the first time at the office and how honored Deborah was to have you there. I was equally delighted that she found such a precious gem to work beside. It gave her peace of mind to know you were holding the reigns. You reminded her so much of our Mother: beautiful, strong, detailed and authentic to self. We both considered you another member of the family. Our prayers are with your family. With much love and deep condolences.

My girl Roz was smart, beautiful both inside and out, and was just plain FUN to be around. She was caring, giving, and she was understanding. I always enjoyed spending time with her, especially in her home. I’ve never met anyone so organized and so particular! I would always tease her about the way she delicately folded and stored her plastic grocery bags. Her eye for detail was impeccable and she never “half did” anything.

Roz was such an encouraging person. She had a way of sharing testimonies that made you shout back “YES HE WILL!” in response to her famous way of saying “WON’T HE DO IT!” - like she did so often. She could make you see the bright side when you thought your situation was so dim.

I’m so grateful for Roz’s friendship. I’m thankful she made the choice to share her life with me and I do/will miss her dearly. ~Nikki
