On March 19, 1958, the world welcomed Rosalind Yvonne, a beacon of kindness and compassion. She departed this life on February 18, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth. A devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. Rosalind’s gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.
Proudly graduating from Kashmere High School, she continued her academic journey at Texas Southern University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in social work. This educational foundation propelled her into a fulfilling career, where she dedicated herself to serving as a social worker, particularly focusing on childcare services.
Rosalind exchanged marital vows with Ernest Tucker Jr. on November 17, 1985, embarking on a journey of love. Their union blessed them with a son, Torrian Terrell Tucker, born December 31, 1986.
Her faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life, leading her to become an active member of Christian Fellowship MBC, under the leadership of the late Rev. Truly Bell. Later she joined her husband at New Mt Calvary MBC, under the leadership of the late Rev. Willie Jones and the current senior pastor, Rev. Christopher C. Moore.
In the embrace of eternity, Rosalind is reunited with her loving parents, Abraham and Gloria Compton, and her beloved husband, Ernest Tucker Jr. Left to cherish her memory are: her son, Torrian Tucker;
her grandchildren Tristan Tucker and Ryleigh Tucker; her biological mother, June Esco; her siblings, Cheryl McGowen, Terri Esco, Kimberley Harris, and Terrence Esco; and a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives she enriched with her love and care.
