Rose Mary Moran, joined her mother, father, and seven brothers in heaven on March 9, 2018. May the Lord welcome her with open arms. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on November 16, 1937 to Maria and Severo Quiroga. She was one of 10 children. She is survived by her loving and doting husband of 62 years, Santos; her children, Chris, David, Tracy, and Robert; her grandchildren, Grace, Samuel, Charlotte, and Ceci; her daughter in law, Allison; and her two surviving sisters, Olga Charron and Linda Dominquez.

Our mother and father have known each other since they were both 12 years old. In 1954 they married and moved to Houston. Because of my father's hard work and dedication to providing for his family our mother was able to stay home to provide her family a loving and caring home life. It wasn't until all her children had reached high school did she choose to further enrich her life by working as a teacher's assistant at Condit Elementary School in Bellaire, TX and later GE Capital. She retired in 1996 to be a "Neeny Mom" to her first granddaughter, Grace. After 50 years of hard work our father had retired and in 2004 our mom finally had her husband all to herself.

Our mother had a love for politics that she got from her dad. She became very involved in working for candidates and causes she believed in. A life long Democrat, she worked tirelessly to elect men and women that would fight to protect the rights of the less fortunate, the elderly, working class American, women, and immigrants that came to this country to make a better life for their families. That love and passion she had was passed down to all her children. Our mother's other great love was being a grandmother ("Neeny Mom") to her four beautiful grandchildren. she'll miss watching them grow to adulthood and starting families of their own.

In her final years our mother's health declined rapidly and she suffered from early dementia. She was in pain most days but it never stopped her from doing things around the house to keep busy. She would hide her pain to make life easier for her husband, Our mother is no longer in pain, she is in heaven reunited with her long lost loved ones. She will watch over all her family until one day we all join her in eternal life. We will all miss her smile, laugh, wisdom, and kind words of encouragement. Rest in peace mom, we all love you so much.

This Sunday is Easter Sunday, Mom, this will be the first holiday without you in my life. I've had so many "first" already since you left me. It's not getting any easier for me but I know it will be longer time between crying because it hurts not having you here. I'm watching over Dad like you knew I would. I'll be sure to stop in on Easter to make sure he's okay. I love you Mom. Happy Easter.

Mom, I know you are looking after me. I was so sad and felt a hole in my heart until you reached out to me Friday night and when I was talking to you made your presence known to me. I felt a calmness come over me, I was no longer afraid of a future without you. I know I will see you again. I know that your love for me is so powerful that not even death will keep us apart. I promised you I was going to get healthy again and look after Dad , make positive changes in my life and I will. I will honor you and all you did for me since the moment I was born. Mom I will cherish our long conversations at the kitchen table and look forward to having them again someday. I'll be speaking to you everyday till we're reunited. I love you Mom !
