Dear family and friends,
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Rose Mary Miller, 79, on May 3, 2026. Rose was born in Chicago, Illinois, on January 31, 1947, and passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
From an early age, Rose was known for her kind spirit and deep love for her family. Those qualities remained constant throughout her life and were reflected in the way she cared for others with quiet strength, compassion, and generosity.
Rose was a dedicated member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) community and believed strongly in showing up for people in meaningful ways. Whether through her work, volunteer efforts, or simple acts of kindness, she always tried to do what was right and offer support without expecting anything in return.
She also found joy in life’s simpler moments — needlepoint, gardening, and traveling throughout the United States, especially visiting National Parks and taking cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska.
Rose faced her later years with resilience and grace, remaining connected to the people she loved in every way she could.
She is survived by her husband, Charles H. Miller; her children, Vanessa Arevalo, Joseph Garcia III, and James Garcia; her stepsons, Ben Miller, Charles Miller Jr., and Leslie Miller; her sisters and brother, Annie Garcia, Becky Bruciaga, and Rudy Bruciaga; and her grandchildren, Ella Garcia, Lily Garcia, Alicia Garcia, Stephanie Miller, James and Tony Miller, Courtney Thomas, Charles Allen Miller, Amelia Beatrix Miller, Riley Miller and Grayson Ozzy Miller and great grandchildren: Kai and Luca Ramirez, Ava and Nash Freitag, James, Monty, Ashley and Baron Miller, Ruby Raabe and family pet, Puppy Dog.
Though Rose will be deeply missed, her life remains a reminder of the lasting impact of compassion, loyalty, and unwavering love.
