RoseMary Velasquez

RoseMary Amador Velasquez, 71, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 12, 1955, in Houston, Texas, to Ignacio Amador, Sr., and Andrea De los Santos Amador.

She is survived by her husband (her viejito) of 54 years, Alfredo "Freddy" Velasquez, Sr. She is also survived by her daughter, Christina Velasquez (V. Castaneda), son Alfredo "Freddy" Velasquez, Jr. (Ninfa Gonzales), granddaughter Jayda Alizay Crain Velasquez, sister Gloria Delgado, and many family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ignacio Jr. and Mike Amador, and sisters Janie Rodriguez and Andrea Delgado.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother (momo), sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was also a very caring person throughout her life, always checking on and looking out for everyone.

Many will remember her for her love of cooking (especially her potato salad), roosters, roses (plants), cats, and dancing while listening to her oldies and Tejano music. She also loved her Astros and was a BIG fan for many years, watching and listening to them every chance she could.

She will be loved and missed dearly by everyone who came to know her.

Visitation will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, on July 20, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, US, on July 21, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

A Committal Service will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077, US, on July 21, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
