

Rosie Mojica Almanza passed away on July 8, 2026 at the age of 89. She was born on August 13,1936 to Reyes and Guadalupe Mojica in Houston Tx. She was the oldest of 8 children and was held responsible to help take care of her siblings She attended Milby High School and had to start working before she could graduate Her first job was an elevator operator for a hotel.
She met her husband at a church picnic at the San Jacinto Monument in April of 1953. She married Crecencio Almanza, the son of the preacher of the Bethlehem Church in Houston Texas on September 9,1956 after he returned from serving in the army. He had a house built for them in Alvin Texas where they moved and had their first born, in September of 1957. They later moved to Houston where she started working at the Credit Bureau in downtown Houston for many years and made lifelong friendships there. In 1967 she had her second child. She stayed home for many years devoting her time to her children.
Years later she took business and medical terminology classes and worked for a surgeon and general physician for many years. She was a devoted Christian and member of Christian Temple Assembly of God Church and was active in the women's ministry and church functions.
She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with all her heart. Spoiling them was what made her happy. She took care of her grandchildren in the summer for many years. She had a special bond with them. Later in life she loved to do word search, watch Wheel of Fortune and talk to her sister on the phone every night.
She is preceded in death by her husband Crecencio Almanza. Siblings: Rachel Carrisalez, Rita Villarreal, Ruben Mojica and Ray Mojica.
She is survived by her children Sylvia Felan and husband Paul, Rhonda Moran and husband Jesse. Siblings: Ruth Kristoff, Rebecca Chilcutt and Roy Mojica
Grandchildren - Kristen, Victoria, Paul Michael and Brianna
Great grandchildren - Kamryn, Kali, Josiah and Kalina. Violet and Isaac to arrive in the winter of 2026.
