Rosie Marie Ester was born Rosie Marie Webster on August 31, 1948, in Houston, Texas, to the late Lucius and Carrie Webster. She was raised in Houston’s historic Acres Homes community, where she attended Houston Independent School District schools and graduated from M.C. Williams High School.
At an early age, Rosie confessed her faith in Christ, beginning her Christian journey in 1956 at Green Meadow Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Reverend E. A. Pinson. Over nearly 70 years of faithful membership, she served on the Junior Choir, the Junior Usher Board, and the Senior Usher Board. Her steadfast devotion to her church reflected her deep love for God and her heart for serving others.
Rosie was blessed with a daughter, Charlotte Webster. In April 1968, she was united in holy matrimony with George Ester Sr., and to this union a son, George Ester Jr., was born. A devoted wife, loving mother, and dedicated homemaker, Rosie placed her family at the center of her life. She was a licensed cosmetologist and also faithfully served the Aldine Independent School District for many years.
