Ross Montgomery Alford Jr.

Ross Montgomery Alford Jr. 78, of Houston, Texas was born October 18, 1945 in San Francisco, California to Ross Montgomery Alford, Sr. and LaVerne Board Alford and passed away March 30, 2024 in Houston, Texas.

Ross met Carolyn (Sheppard) in high school. It was love at first sight for her and we’re pretty sure it was for him as well as they have been together since he was 17 and she was 16. Together they have two sons, Jeffery Terrance Alford and Russell Montgomery Alford. When he became a husband and a dad, he was on top of the world and lived his life from that moment on for his family. He loved his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends with an unconditional love. And he was loved in return. If you were fortunate enough to become his friend, you likely stayed his friend. Ross was a man of faith and was a long-time member of The Foundry Methodist Church. He did a lot of volunteer service with fellow church members until his failing health prevented him from continuing.

Ross spent most of his working career in the telecommunications field. He was a loyal employee and as a manager, he treated those he supervised with kindness and respect.

Ross leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Carolyn, sons Jeffery (Susie) and Russell (Teresa), grandchildren Danielle Alford, Nicole Alford, Christina Alford, Cole Alford, Jacob Alford, Aidan Alford, Kaytelyn Koutros (George), Brittney Gebauer (Colby), Jace Kearley, and Cade Kearley. Also his great-grandchildren Elias Koutros and Lane Alford and two more on the way.

Ross is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ronnie Alford.

His funeral service will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Brookside Cypress-Creek Funeral Home, 9149 Highway 6 North, in Houston. Those wishing to visit with the family before the service are invited to arrive any time after 1:00.
