It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ross DePaul, a beloved father, husband, and grandfather who peacefully left us on March 8, 2024, at the age of 72.
Ross was born on April 19, 1951 in Trenton, New Jersey. Raised in a strong Italian family, he developed a strong sense of cooking and loud talking at an early age. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1971-1973.
Ross was a devoted husband to his wife, Karen, a loving father to two children—Amara and Sterling—and a proud grandfather to James. His home was always filled with laughter, inappropriate jokes, and the aroma of his famous Italian cooking.
In his professional life, Ross dedicated almost four decades to being a lawyer. His impact reached beyond the courtroom, as he instilled a sense of justice, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the legal profession in both his colleagues and mentees alike. Ross's influence extended far beyond the cases he championed, leaving a lasting legacy of legal excellence and ethical practice within the legal community.
Throughout his life, Ross enjoyed learning, cooking, listening and sharing all types of music, as well as finding the best food to indulge in. His greatest pleasure was experienced when spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Karen DePaul; their children: Amara DePaul and husband Jason Torres, Sterling DePaul; his grandson, James; his brother, Dennis DePaul, and wife Debbie DePaul, along with her children, Hannah and Emily, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service and celebration of Ross's life will be held on March 16, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek, 9149 Hwy 6 N, Houston, TX 77095. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Disabled American Veterans in Ross's name.
