

Ross served in World War II in the Pacific. He was a proud Marine Corps naval aviator. Ross got a BS and MS in Mechanical Engineering at Ohio State University and worked for Shell Oil Company as a Drilling Engineer for over forty years. He was a member of many professional societies and he was elected to the grade of Fellow by ASME in 1983. Ross taught Engineering courses at the University of Houston until he was 86. He mentored young people as part of the HISD science program, which promotes careers in engineering and science and was a long time member of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church.
Ross was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Glen; and his first wife, Mary Ruth (Peggy). He is survived by three children, Keith, Michael and David; five grandchildren: Keith, Kathryn, Hannah, Sam, and William; two great-grandchildren: Emily and Megan, and his second wife, Lisa Weisemann Kastor.
The memorial service will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 9th of January, at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the grand foyer.
