

Roy A. Champiomont, 80, died peacefully on September 21, 2015 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his loving wife, Bernadette, of 54 years; his daughter, Joan Champiomont; Leah Ketrick and husband David, and granddaughter, Tori, daughter Kay Champiomont and Joe Figliola, granddaughter Gabriella; twin grandsons, Cameron Roy and Chase Anthony; sister, Blanche Johnson, and many nieces and nephews.
Roy was a native Houstonian, attended St. Thomas High School and Sam Houston State University. He served in the U.S. Army and spent 18 months in Salzburg, Austria as a radio operator.
He made Katy his home for the past 54 years. He was an entrepreneur at heart. His start in the construction business led him to multiple endeavors including his own cultured marble company, bronze castings and boat storage business. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved the playing the piano and harmonica. His pride and joy was his boat which he generously shared with family and friends. He loved animals especially his multiple canine companions.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, September 24 at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home at 10:00am on Friday. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
