Roy Vara, age 72, of Houston, Texas passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021. Roy was born June 1, 1949. Roy lived a full and eventful life, filled with the love of family and friends. He was a warrior throughout life. He worked hard to provide for his family. His was the owner of Grey concrete construction, owner of Vara’s, manager at Ike’s Place, and a supervisor at The City of Houston waste management. Despite his dedication to work he still managed to be a devoted father and put his family first. He taught his children the importance of family and above all to believe in God. He never hesitated to lend a hand or an ear to anyone in need. He will be forever loved and always remembered. Roy was predeceased by his parents Richard T. Vara Sr., mother Guadalupe Vaeza Vara and wife Yvonne Vara. He is survived by his children, Roy Vara Jr., Lisa Vara-Perez, Lori Vara and Raymond Vara. His grandchildren, Raquel Vara, Iliana Vara, Isaac Perez, Brianna Perez, Nathan Ignacio, Nicholas Ignacio, Raymond Vara Jr., Raylin Vara, and Xayier Vara. A visitation for Roy will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, Texas 77003. A rosary service will occur Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, Texas 77003. A viewing will occur Friday, September 17, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Patrick Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran St, Houston, Texas 77009. A funeral mass will occur Friday, September 17, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St Patrick Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran St, Houston, Texas 77009.
