My Condolence To the Ortiz family. I have so many memory with Cookie at the park. Chris you had a great dad. I always remember being at the softball parks playing and watching games with him. He always love talking and bragging about you and why wouldn’t he. You’re an awesome man too. Love you bro.

Mr Ruben Ortiz never met a stranger and was a happy go lucky sorta guy! The angels in heaven will all save a dance for him, I am certain! 

We all will be praying for the family and friends that he left behind, at this time of loss.

Never thought this would happen! Cook and I spoke about death more in the last six months than I ever had. It seems that the longer we live the more grateful we are for the time we have. When Reagan passed away Cook cried when he told me, later at his house we sat and listened to music he said we will all pass and it could happen any day. With that being said Cook wasn't going to live any other way then the way he lived. Ruben was as good of a friend that I ever had. Rubens love of life was his Family, Competition, Music, Dancing and his friends. I have never met a stronger person, he never complained and didn't want anyone to know when he was in pain, but he was quick to help others. I loved his strength, his resiliency, his passion and his love of life. I will always remember just sitting at his place having a drink, listening to music.

My sincere condolences to the Ortiz family.  Ruben was there for me at a very difficult time in my life. I will always remember him for that.  Rest easy Cookie!   Thank you for being there for me! 

Ruben, my brother, he liked the ladies and his Courvoiser.... but there was so much more to Ruben.  He loved his family his brother, sisters, sons and daughter and Grandchildren.  He spoke with love about his family.   Especially his mother, children and grandchildren.  He was so proud of his children, he spoke how chris was a great baseball player.... better than he was....and he was so proud  of Chris and Steven and Samantha.   He would talk about Chris being an educator and coach and Steven being a police officer... and how pretty his daughter was.  He was proud of his grandchildren... his granddaughter the athlete graduating from high school his eldest grandson he would say was just like him and he loved Steven's babies.  As for me he was there for me especially during two traumatic experiences in my life...when my mother almost passed away from open heart surgery.  He was there praying with my dad until the doctor came to tell us she would live...ruben wept...and when I had my stroke it was Ruben who got me to the hospital..... First my heart goes out to the Ortiz family. i meet ruben years ago when we played softball together then later worked together at compact computer in 1994. great buddy great person! i will miss you on second base my friend rest in peace.

Wow!! So many memories just as  funny, great, crazy, brawling, dancing, laughing, having drinks! 
Getting dressed to impress! 
Making memories with Cook was the best. Cook wasn’t afraid to meet his maker.  Matter of fact he had questions for him.... he said to me, he knew his time was coming and he was going to face it as he lived his life, straight up face to face. 
He always had good things to say about his children, he was very proud of them and he love cutting the  front yard at his house and BBQ on the back patio.
I will remember Cook as straight up kind of guy who never was afraid that he might get what was coming to him, he always had his faith in God and the Love for his Beautiful. Mom and his families and those two Winnie dogs that he call his boys. 
Yes, I will cherish our memories  my brother of another Mother.. He was right, I cried. RIP Cook
