

Ruby was born on the 25th of March 1926 in Brenham, Texas, to Herman and Edna Woehst. The family moved to Houston when Ruby was 2 where they lived for the next 30 years. She had two brothers, Kirby Woehst and Lewis Woehst.
She was a photo printer for Berkey Studios in Houston and then Eckerd Photo lab in Conroe, Texas where she retired. Ruby was married to the late William Eddie Summers and the mother of four sons, Eddie Ray Summers, Allen Woehst Summers, Wayne Harvey Summers and David William Summers.
Ruby was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Eddie Summers; her parents, Herman and Edna Woehst; her brother, Lewis Woehst; her sons, Eddie Ray Summers, Allen Woehst Summers and Wayne Harvey Summers. She is survived by her son, David William Summers of Allen, Texas; her brother, Kirby Woehst and his wife, Harriett, of Huntsville, Texas; and her niece and nephew, Kirby and Cynthia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeffery Allen Summers and his wife, Jami, Jeramy Jon Shane Summers and his wife Liz, Stacey Lynne Kohler and her husband, Jeff, Jamie Nicole Merillat and her husband, Jason, Melanie Shea Mullin and her husband, Doug, Phillip Scott Summers and his fiance’ Kelcy Brendsel, Eric Chase Summers and his fiance’ Amber Clark, Ashley Brooke Summers and Justin Pitts. She is also survived by her great-grand children, Josh Merillat, Seth Sherwood, Kennedi Kohler, Abagail Mullin, Emily Summers, Jordan Merrillat, Mallory Summers, Jackson Summers, Cameron Kohler, Reagan Summers, Adasyn Mullin, Luke Summers and Embry Pitts; the mothers of her grandchildren, Stella Holt, Sandy Summers-Knox and Debra Hatfield Pruyn. She is also survived by her son David’s life-long friend, Anita Phillips.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock this afternoon until seven o’clock this evening on Sunday, the 18th of December, in the Library and Grand Foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
The funeral service is to be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, the 19th of December, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, where Bro. Don Ricks, Pastor of Shiloh Cowboy Church, is to officiate.
The interment service is to follow, via an escorted cortege, at Woodlawn Garden of Memories in Houston.
