He was married to Anita O. Barelas for 55 years.
Rudolfo F. Barelas had a career in the United States Marine Corps. He retired as a Master Sergeant with over 22 years of service. He received his GED during his enlistment in the US Marine Corps along with numerous military training.
He was a member and Past Commander of American Legion Post 578. He was also a Life Member and held the position of Sr. Vice of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 9187.
Rudy had a passion for visiting his American Legion and VFW Post, and he loved to play the machines at various locations and go to the casinos.
He was survived by his 3 children, Rudolfo F. Barelas Jr., Valentino Barelas, and Anna Rubio (Martin Rubio); His 5 grandchildren, James Capasso, Aaron Barelas, Diamond Nelson, Jacob Rubio, and Zachary Rubio; His 5 great grandchildren, Alessandra Capasso, Kyleigh and Ava Nelson, Eva Marie and Adam Vincent Barelas; His 3 sisters, Angelita Tyler, Victoria Gonzales, and Mary Ojeda.
