Rusty lived most of his life in Houston, Tx; except for five years spent in New Iberia, La. He often took opportunities to see and explore the world visiting places like Costa Rica, Canada, and New York City. His appetite for adventure and fun was relentless. Often, his mother would recall how ready he was to join the world; spinning, somersaulting, and kicking in the womb looking forward to be free and play.
A graduate of the Class of 2000 from Cy-Falls high school, Rusty continued his education at Blinn Junior College and Rice University. All of which was accomplished while maintaining a full time job, and nurturing relationships with friends and family. By virtue of his presence alone, he reminded anyone and everyone around him to work just as hard as he played, living life to the fullest.
In 2004, Rusty began the journey of starting his own family with his soul mate, Vanessa, who he married on June 5th of that same year. Three years later, on September 22, 2007, they welcomed their baby girl, Aliyah Victoria, into the world. It was love at first sight and the beginning of many happy and cherished memories to come.
On November 6th, 2009, Rusty was involved in a motorcycle accident that changed the course of his life. Despite the hardships that came with the accident, Rusty pressed forward and overcame any new obstacle that presented itself, especially with the support of his friends and family. As Rusty continued to endure additional surgeries and complications from his accident he was eventually diagnosed with a rare pain disorder, called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), brought on by traumatic nerve damage from his accident. CRPS is a chronic and deteriorating condition without a cure.
In lieu of this tremendous fight, Rusty, Vanessa, and Aliyah also welcomed into the world and completed their family with the addition of their son, Lincoln Ian, on February 12th, 2011.
Despite his injuries, for the last 10 years of his life, Rusty was a valued employee of Howco Group Metals, many of those years spent diligently providing for his family while battling CRPS.
Rusty is survived by his loving wife, Vanessa; daughter, Aliyah; son, Lincoln; parents, Chester (III) and Holly; brother, Chester (IV); sister, Jaelyn Hardy; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, Danial and Freda McDonald; and Chester (II) and Lois Presley.
