

Ruth Pyle Manoushagian Jordan, passed away on November 14, 2011 at the age of 90. She was born on June 4, 1921 to Thomas Judson and Jessie Overstreet Pyle in Wichita Falls, Texas. Ruth married Charles William Manoushagian in 1940, and they eventually relocated to Pasadena, Texas where they raised their three daughters. After moving to Greensboro, North Carolina in 1965, they came back to their beloved Texas in 1977 and made their home in Missouri City. Charles passed away in 1981, and Ruth later married Foster A. Jordan. Together they enjoyed their love of traveling the world until his death in 1995. Ruth relocated to Weimar, Texas where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Jennie and Jack Muggli. The last year of her life she lived at Emeritus Sugar Land where loving hands cared for her and loving hearts made each day joyful for Ruth and her family. Ruth was a devout Christian who combined faith with works wherever she lived. Throughout her life she gave her time and devotion to many activities including her church favorites: choir, altar guild, and membership in The Daughters of the King. She also enjoyed her memberships in The Daughters of the American Revolution and UDC.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Ed Powell of Missouri City, Charlotte and Gene Strader of Sugar Land, and Jennie and Jack Muggli of Weimar; grandchildren: Charles Powell and wife Catherine of Garden City, NY, Douglas Powell and wife Kendra of Kingwood, Shelley Puffer of Sugar Land, Chad Strader and wife Shannon of Richmond, Tamara Pedlow and husband Greg of Katy, Leigh Ann Daniel and husband Dan of College Station, Theresa Mentzer and husband Thad of Conroe, Joe Muggli and wife Pam of Conroe, and John Muggli of Dallas. Ruth had many great-grandchildren who lovingly call her GG. Her sister Virginia Thrash and family of Denver, sister-in-law Jean Manoushagian and family of Bridgeport, and the Jud Pyle family of Mesquite, also survive her. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and brother, Thomas Judson Pyle, Jr. The family wishes to thank the staff of Emeritus Sugar Land and the staff of A MED Hospice who provided excellent and loving care. Services will be conducted at Forest Park Westheimer on Saturday, November 19, at 2:00 p.m.; Interment will follow. The family will have visitation prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. For those desiring, a memorial in Ruth’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org) would be greatly appreciated.
