Salama Shahin was born in Gaza to Nakl and Victoria Shahin. He received his education in medical technology at the Baptist School of Health Sciences in Gaza. Salama then went to work for the Swedish Clinic in Gaza and also had his own medical laboratory. Salama is survived by his wife, Vera; children, Emad (Doris), Michael (Maysoun), Beshara (Nisreen), Randa (Ghattas) and Majed (Veronica) and 14 grandchildren.
