A proud veteran, Sam served his country in the Army during the Korean War. After his military service, he built a successful career in the food brokerage business while always making time for what mattered most—his family.
Sam was an avid sports fan who rarely missed cheering on his beloved Aggies, Oilers, Texans, Astros, and Rockets. Beyond his love for sports, he found joy in helping others, always willing to lend a hand to neighbors or anyone in need. He never met a stranger, his warm personality leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
Sam’s family fondly remembers him as a devoted father and a man with an endless capacity for love and care, especially for children. His legacy of kindness, generosity, and compassion will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Surviving him are his daughters, Debra Salvato and Charlene Salvato (Charles Davenport); niece, Linda Jentsch (Frank Jentsch); great-nephew, Jeff Reina (Velda Reina); great great-nieces, Caroline and Corinne Reina.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Salvato; his parents; sister Louise Reina; and nephew, Andy Reina.
