Sammie Joyce Perry, 83, was born April 23, 1935 in Crockett, Texas to parents William and Hazel Allee. The family moved to Houston in 1945 to open a grocery store. Sammie enjoyed school and was on her high school drill team. While working at the family grocery store she met her husband, Jessie M. Perry, whom she married August 26, 1955. She went to school to be an English teacher, getting her Associates Degree from the University of Houston. Before she was able to complete her studies, she and Jessie had the first of their three children. At this point, she made the decision to be a homemaker and focus on raising her family. Sammie was an active member of her church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a talented painter and enjoyed playing the piano. Sammie enjoyed traveling and was always ready to hit the road. She enjoyed being surrounded by all those she loved as her greatest joys in life were her family.

Sammie is preceded in death by her parents William and Hazel Allee; husband Jessie M. Perry; son Bill M. Perry; and sister Edna Sue Allee.

Our momma was an amazing woman. She loved with every cell in her body. My Daddy and her showed us what a marriage should be, love, laughter, forgiveness and just enough spice. I know today that they are together and Heaven is even brighter.
We will be ok until we meet again. We will try to follow your footsteps and try to make you proud.

Sammie was our "little Miss Priss", always perfectly put together and very much the lady amongst all of us hooligans (but she raised a few of those too). We love you guys and we are praying for comfort for all of you as you adjust to this new phase of life.

It is said that a woman's greatest legacy is her children. In that case, Aunt Sammie scored 1000%. She was a very classy lady, and will be missed. But, her children are awesome and her life will show through you. God Bless You during this time of sorrow, but Uncle Jack is probably smiling really big today.

Ms. Perry was a spunky and such a very sweet lady I had the privilege of knowing and caring for. She really could light up a room. I'm so sorry for the family's loss but I know she is having such a celebration with those she missed so dearly. Until we meet again.

About two years or so ago, I ran into Sammie Joyce and Jack in a restaurant and visited with them at breakfast. I was so fortunate. She will be a Shining Star in Heaven. She was a Jewel on Earth. We were born just over a year apart in Houston County. Sammie was a favorite niece. She and Jack were some of my favorite kin over the years. So were her sister and brother. There was mutual respect and it showed. Our prayers and condolences are with the Allee Family during these difficult times. Sincerely, Cecil Allee (uncle) and family.
