Coach Lee was a great coach! He always wanted the best for his players and all the kids that crossed his path. Thank you for giving me the push I needed.  RIP!

Coach Sammie Lee you were more than a coach and an educator. You were the father figure a girl never had. “Life for me ain’t been no crystal stair”……However the guidance, chastening, protection, and advice  were all so necessary.  You didn’t just talk your actions showed your care and concern. Coach I have my tool belt.

I thank you so much for instilling in me quitting was never an option. Mistakes will be made and I would just have to make adjustments and better choices but keep going  don’t quit. I’m grateful  I had the opportunity to tell you thank you, love on you and so appreciate you. You will never be forgotten. Rest easy Coach Sammie E. Lee.

To his family, thank for the gem you shared. May God’s grace comfort  you in your  time of bereavement. He was a champ. One in a million. Bless you.

A Coach who provided support and inspired, even after his student athletes graduated from Forest Brook. After graduating in 1987, I would continue playing in a women's collegiate league facing off against players across the state at Texas Tech University. Little did I know, one of the TTU basketball recruiters observed each game. When I returned to the FB gym during summer workouts, Coach Lee, stated, "Hey, what are you trying to do! Should I send your stats to TTU!!! You need to do something! For two years, he would give me that speech. He stated, he was willing to support whatever decision I made. Coach Lee was an honorable, kind and often funny man however, geniune and fair.
 Rest In Peace, You have contributed to the lives of successful, well grounded women that continue to impact others as you did us, until God needed you to coach one of his teams to Victory!

Coach Sammie Lee was more than a coach—he was a steady hand, a fierce believer in our potential, and a man who lived a life rooted in service. Uplifting others—even when his words were tough—was his way of fighting for your success. He didn’t just show up on the court; he showed up for life, again and again.

His love for education and his unwavering commitment to our growth built a legacy that will live on through every life he touched.

To his family—thank you for sharing him with us. His presence, his wisdom, and his generous heart helped shape the person I am today, and I carry his lessons with me always.

May God grant you comfort and peace as we celebrate the extraordinary man who showed up—for his players, his community, and those he loved.
