

Born on the 15th of March 1929, in Kfarmishki, Lebanon, Sam immigrated to Texas at the age of 18 and later obtained U.S. citizenship. He graduated from Wayland Baptist University and Tulane University School of Medicine. Postgraduate education included an internship in Brooklyn, New York; residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Pulmonary Diseases both in Detroit, Michigan. Board certifications included Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, and Critical Care Medicine.
Sam was a devoted physician and practiced medicine for 35 years in Houston. During that time, he was first an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and Chief of the Pulmonary Function Laboratory at the Veterans Administration Hospital. In 1972, he began a successful private practice and was on staff at Memorial Southwest Hospital for many years. He dedicated his life to helping others and caring for his family.
Sam is preceded in death by his wife (married 45 years) Luceil Bauer Boushy, also known as Luceil North, M.D.; his parents, Fadlo and Zahia Boushy; his brothers, Rev. Theodore Boushy, Salem Boushy, Kamel Boushy, Rev. Nadeem Boushy and Paul Boushy; and sisters, Jamile Boushy, Camilla Nasrallah, Yvonne Aboud and Lydia Farrah.
Sam will be lovingly remembered by his brother David Boushy and his wife Leila of Canada; his daughter, Liela Boushy Cooper; his grandson, Caden Cooper, both of Houston; and his many nieces and nephews. He is also fondly remembered by his first wife and the mother of his daughter, Ethel Aitken Boushy Steger.
The family gathered for a private service on Thursday, the 2nd of June. During this difficult time of mourning, the family would like to take this time to grieve in private.
