

Sam was born December 19, 1932 to Manuel Marroquin and Enedina Galicia.
He joined the Air Force in 1951 and honorably served in Korea. Returning in 1955, he attended Texas A&M in Corpus Christi where he met the love of his life, Rachel, whom he married in 1958.
Sam was an entrepreneur. He founded National Export Crating Company in Houston, which was named a top National 500 Hispanic Business from 1987 - 1994.
Sam and Rachel were very active in the Baptist Church. One of his loves was the church choir, which he led until the last year of his life.
Sam is survived by his wife, Rachel; daughters: Cindy Samudio and Elizabeth Harvey; grandchildren: Melissa Reynolds, Sammy Escamilla, Alexander Samudio and Siena Harvey, and great grandson, Dylan Reynolds.
Visitation will be from 6-8PM on Monday, May 21st at Brookside. Funeral service will be at 12PM on Tuesday, May 22nd at North Central Church, 25130 Aldine Westfield Rd., Spring, TX 77373. Interment will follow in Houston National Cemetery.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Sam's honor to Boys & Girls Harbor, Inc. P.O. Box 848, Houston, TX 77001-0848.
