

She was born on April 17, 1963, to Zenon and Juanita R. Bocanegra.
Sandra was dedicated to her family by always looking after her mother and helping her daughter with one of her many school events. Sandra’s joyful spirit lifted up others whether it be by dancing to 80s music, poking fun at one of her many siblings, or preparing her annual “Santa Pants” Christmas stockings. But what she enjoyed most was spending time together as a family. Hablando “chisme” while drinking coffee and eating pan dulce on a warm Sunday afternoon.
She is preceded in death by her parents Zenon and Juanita R. Bocanegra also by her brothers Jose C. Bocanegra and Agustin R. Bocanegra, Melissa Bocanegra (sister-in-law) and Glen Severson (brother-in-law).
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Mireya I. Almaraz, ex-husband Sergio Almaraz; brother Silverio Bocanegra, sisters Apolonia Bocanegra-Severson, Blanca Bocanegra, Juanita Shihadeh (Mohamed), Gabriella Bocanegra, Estefana Newton (Zailo), and Virginia S. Friez (Joe). In addition, she is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral arrangements will be held in Houston, Texas.
