Sandra Renai Eschberger, loving wife, mother and “Meme,” graduated to her heavenly home on July 17th, 2022, while her husband and two children worshiped the Lord by her side. Born on February 16th, 1945, in Robstown, Texas, to Ernestine Miller and Edwin Oscar Miller, Sandy was raised on her family’s cotton and grain farm with her two younger brothers, Edwin and Don. After graduating, she married her high school sweetheart, Ronnie. Together they had two children, Ronda and Troy, and lived in Robstown for eight years running their family farm.
In 1970, Sandy and Ron moved to Houston to begin a new adventure, building custom homes, an industry they are still in today. Sandy was not only an amazing mother and homemaker but an entrepreneur and woman of many accomplishments: a health and fitness coach, a wardrobe stylist and personal shopper and the inventor of “Happy Toes.”
Ordained Ministers and long-time members of Lakewood Church, Sandy and Ron were involved in the Prayer Partner Ministry, Hospital Ministry and Home Group Ministry. They were also involved in Kingdom Connections International and Mickie Winborn Ministries, allowing them to touch many people’s lives.
Sandy was a prayer warrior, a faith-filled woman who loved and served others well. She was an extraordinary baker (known for her pies, cakes and muffins), cook, gardener and seamstress. She loved to travel, spend time with her family (especially if it involved playing Mexican Train) and watch Wheel of Fortune and Hallmark movies. She loved to read her Bible, pray for others and sing her hymns, even up to the moment she took her last breath.
Sandy was truly a Proverbs 31 woman, admired and loved by many. She will be missed dearly.
Sandy was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her husband, Ron Eschberger; her two children, Ronda Lewellen (J.T.) and Troy Eschberger; her three grandchildren, Lauren Lewellen, Taylor Eschberger and Blake Eschberger; her two brothers, Edwin Miller (Vicky), Don Miller and their families; her two sister-in-laws, Sandy Schanen, Marilyn Fowler and their families; along with the Kubsch family.
She will be buried at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery.
Her Celebration of Life will be held at Lakewood Church on Saturday, July 23rd at 1:30 p.m. at 3700 Southwest Fwy, Houston, TX 77027. Timmons Circle Drive will be the primary parking area for the funeral. When full, the overflow parking areas will be the handicap parking lot on City Club Drive at Edloe Street and B1 and B2 on the feeder road near Buffalo Speedway.
Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sandy’s name to Samaritan’s Purse.
