Sandra Ray Johnson

Sandra met the love of her life, James Ray, in Houston, Texas, and the two were married on December 27, 1958. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and lasting memories.

She was a proud life member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Sandra found joy in many things throughout her life, but nothing brought her more happiness than the time she spent with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Johnson, Jr. and Marie Kelley; her beloved husband, James Ray; her sister, Shirley Moore; and her granddaughter, Christina Foster.

Sandra leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory always: her brother, Bob Johnson and his wife Becky; her three children, Debbie and her husband Richard, Doug and his wife Sherrie, and Melissa. She was also blessed with seven grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense pride and joy in her life.

In her later years, Sandra developed a deep love for reading and could often be found enjoying her favorite Harlequin novels. Over the years she also enjoyed bowling, walking, ceramics, playing Bunco with friends, and collecting Emmett Kelly clowns. These simple joys, along with her warm spirit and loving heart, left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Sandra will be remembered for her love of family, her kind heart, and the many beautiful memories she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those who loved her.

Pallbearers will be Doug Ray, Dustin Recio, Kevin Markey, Ayden Recio, Gilbert Recio, and Kyle Bickley.

Visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home, Family Chapel, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, on March 12, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at Brookside Funeral Home, Family Chapel, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039, on March 12, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

The Committal Service will take place at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, US, on March 12, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:15 pm.
