Sandra Fay Burrell Sandles was a force of nature—filled with energy, love, and a wit that could brighten any room. Born May 31, 1956, in Sour Lake, Texas, to Henry and Bernice (Haney) Burrell, she was the fifth of eight siblings.
Sandra’s early education was in Sour Lake but attended High school in Houston. After graduating from Kashmere High School, she married her first love, Charles Sandles in 1976. Though tragedy took Charles far too soon, Sandra found strength in their beloved son, Charles Jr.
Love bloomed once more when Sandra married Charles R. Robinson, with whom she shared the joy of raising four children: Terrance, Leqreshia, Cassandra, and Katrina.
Her natural empathy led her to a long, fulfilling career in healthcare, a calling she honored until her retirement in 2023.
On March 19, Sandra answered a higher calling, transitioning from this life to her eternal home leaving a legacy of laughter and a family who never quite knew what she’d say next but knew it would be memorable. To her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, she wasn’t just an aunt or granny, she was a co-conspirator in fun. To her siblings, family and friends, she was the person you called when you needed a hand or a heart beaming laugh.
Sandra is preceded in death by her first husband Charles, her parents, and oldest brother Edward Burrell.
She is survived by sons Charles Sandles, Jr., and Terrance Sandles; daughters Leqreshia Langley, Cassandra Robinson, Katrina Bhattarai; siblings Clifton Burrell (Elbann), Charles Burrell (Lavonda), Barbara Whitaker, Earline Burrell, Linda Branch (Donald Wayne) Tina Crane (Robert).
