Sandra was born on the 5th of February 1944, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Pearl and Dr. Ogden Vennard. She spent her early years in Baton Rouge and attended the prestigious University High School on the LSU campus. She continued her education at Louisiana State University, where she graduated and was a proud member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority, forming lifelong friendships and memories.
In late 1970, Sandra met the love of her life, Byron Stroman of Ardmore, Oklahoma, on a blind date. Their connection was immediate and enduring, and they were married on June 17, 1972, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned more than five decades.
Sandra had a love for travel, always eager to explore new places and create lasting memories with her family. Among her favorite retreats was her cherished yellow beach house on Galveston Island, where she found joy, peace, and delighted in watching the purple martins that gathered each season.
A woman of faith, Sandra was a dedicated member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, where she found community, comfort, and purpose throughout her life.
Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Ogden and Mrs. Pearl Vennard; her sisters, Linda Vennard Lee and Sally Vennard; and brother Bill.
