Santos Olivares born November 1, 1926 in Brenham, Texas, passed away October 26, 2012, in Houston, Texas surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a proud father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, Petra Saavedra & Gumecindo Olivares; brother, Paul Olivares; sister, Lupita Olivares. Survivors include loving wife of 66 years, Margaret Olivares; sister Connie Reyes; children: Clara Olivares, Dorothy & husband Timothy Howland, Celeste & husband Kenneth Romero, George Olivares & wife Lyna, Jesse Olivares, Eric Olivares & wife Sandra, Tony Olivares & wife Matilda, Patsy Carvajal & husband Bernard, Joni Varela & husband John, Grace Burkes & husband Loy; along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-9 on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Broookside Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM on Monday, October 29, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran St., Houston, Texas 77009. Interment will follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
