Santos Rico Sotello

Santos Rico Sotello passed from this life on Friday, March 20, 2015, at the age of 93, surrounded with love by family and friends. Known lovingly as “Momo”, she was born in Mexico to Alejo and Tomasa Rico. Momo was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Lawrence Sotello and by sons in law, Charles Jones and Tom Greer. She is survived by her sisters Gregoria (Goya) Herrera and Benita (June) Medrano, two daughters, Marie McArdle and Carol Jones, three grandchildren, Christopher Jones and wife Mary, Kristyn Zepeda and husband Robert, and Brandon Jones and wife Vicky, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She loved her daughters, her grandchildren, and her joy and the special apples of her eye are the great grandchildren, Camryn, Nick, Anthony, Sofia, Kaiden, Zoey, Preston, Lyla and Maddie.

Momo was an Astros fan, and never missed a game on TV, and loved watching all sports. She read the Sunday newspaper from cover to cover each week and was well versed in many subjects. Momo said what was on her mind, but always with a smile and a sense of humor.

She was happiest when she was with her family, and was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many and will always lovingly be remembered as "Momo".

Visitation will be Tuesday March 24, 2015 from 5:30 pm to 7 pm at American Heritage Funeral Home on Veterans Memorial in Houston, immediately followed by a service. Graveside will be on Thursday, March 26 at 1 pm at Greenwood Cemetery in Ft. Worth, Texas. Family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or charity of your choice.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Jones, Brandon Jones, Richard Herrera, Sam Herrera, Edward Herrera, and George Seymour.
