Sebastian Jusino, age 21, passed away suddenly at his home in Colorado Springs, Co., during the night of October 2nd and morning of October 3rd, 2021, while he was peacefully sleeping.
Sebastian, or Seby as he was known by all, was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on May 2nd, 2000. He was raised in Yauco, Puerto Rico, and Houston, Texas, where he graduated from Houston Heights High School in 2018.
After he graduated, he went on to serve his country by joining the U.S. Army until his passing. He was a beloved and dedicated soldier.
Seby’s parents are Ismael E. Jusino and Lillian D. Hebert. He had two siblings, Jan C. Jusino and Mia J. Jusino, all residents of the Heights, Houston, TX. He also had a faithful companion, the light of his eyes, his dog Honey Bun. Seby is survived by his four grandparents: Ismael Jusino-McDougall, Aida Torres-Ortiz, Richard G. Hebert, and Carmen S. Irigoyen. He is also survived by many loving aunts and uncles as well as cousins.
Seby lived a short but full life, a full of love and good times one. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, talking endlessly about his hobbies, life and more, never ever losing his beautiful smile. Sebastian loved the outdoors, especially the Colorado mountains, and the beaches of his beloved island of Puerto Rico, particularly Caracoles in La Parguera. He enjoyed cooking always reinventing recipes. He loved a good movie, listening to all types of music and dancing. Seby loved to have a great time, and his bright smile and energy were always the life of the party.
Sebastian loved his country and was proud of serving it through the US Army, but foremost he loved helping people. He touched so many souls with his words and actions. There was a time when a friend needed his help, and as the caring person Seby was, he gave her a book with the following quotes written on a piece of paper:
“There is nothing wrong with being afraid. When you fear, you see things a different way.” -The Teachings of Don Juan pg. 48.
Seby knew no fear when it came to serve his country, to love his family and friends, and when a helping hand was needed, and for that he will be forever missed and never forgotten.
The celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Pat H. Foley & Company Funeral Home. 1200 W 34th St. Houston, TX 77018. His burial will be held on Wednesday, October 20th, 2021, at 10:30 am at Houston National Cemetery. 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
