Sergio Augusto Facchini

Dr. Sergio Augusto Facchini passed away on January 14, 2025, at the age of 81. Sergio was born on May 9, 1943, in Dona Euzebia, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Sergio is survived by his wife, Nilma Facchini, his son, Augusto Facchini, his daughter Mariana Hill with her husband James, and his grandson, Jackson Hill.

Sergio was a beloved physician specializing in the field of pediatric neurology. He graduated from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora Faculty of Medicine in 1968. He completed his residency at the University of Tennessee in 1976. He began practicing medicine in Brazil, but most of his professional career was in the United States.

Sergio and his family moved from Brazil to Memphis, Tennessee in 1988 where he spent many years working in the neurology department at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. He and his family spent a few years in Columbia, South Carolina as well as Lenexa, Kansas before settling in Houston, Texas where Sergio retired from medicine in 2015.

In addition to his professional calling, Sergio loved reading history books, writing poetry, and traveling the world. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday 1/29/2025, Rosary at 10:30; Service begins at 11:00, Brookside Funeral Home - Cypress Creek.
