Shafiqur will be remembered for his humor and devotion to his family. At the age of 18 he moved to Boston with his older brother than moved to Houston. Once moving to Houston he started working in the restaurant business. In 1986 he met his now wife Maria and they got married in February 1989. They later had their daughter in 1993 and later their son in 1998.
He is survived by his wife Maria and children Sasha and Joshua, his son in law Ideonie and daughter in law Maddy. Also his grandchildren Ariana and Jude.
Those who knew him would call him “Shah”. He also had a love for food and cooking. He loved spending time with his family cooking his traditional Indian dishes for them to try.
