Our sweet, loving Sharon Marie Hays, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at her home in Houston, TX. She was born at Heights Hospital, November 3, 1949 and was the baby of five born to Wallace and Margie Hays.
Besides being beautiful inside and out, Sharon was blessed with the fiercest of loyalty rarely seen. She was selflessly devoted to her family and friends and enjoyed a wonderful life shared with her special love. She will be wildly missed by her living siblings; sister, Evelyn Ann Tofte, brother Sheldon Hays and wife Janey and brother Gerald Hays and wife Carol. She is preceded in death by her father, Wallace Hays, mother, Margie Hays, eldest brother Harson Hays and brother-in-law Mike Tofte.
Sharon prided herself on being the “aunt of all aunts” and is loved and adored by all her nieces and nephews and their children. Among them, Scott and Missy Hays, Cathy and Day Cable, Monica and Paul Lovoi, Sherry and Monty Martin, Michael and Jenifer Tofte and Tiffany and Michael Borsch. She is an adoring great aunt to 15 whom have flourished under her constant and consistent presence and prayers (and happy birthday songs); Maddie and husband Calen, Peyton, Lily, Corey, Clara, Jake, Luke, Ryan, Amanda, Madi, Megan, Taber, Kaia and Haysley. She delighted in becoming a great, great aunt to 2 of the sweetest boys, Crae and Cal.
In addition to her native Texan heritage, Sharon has countless extended, loving family members from Louisiana where her smile and presence will also be deeply missed.
Loyalty to family wasn’t Sharon’s only gift. She was a trusted member of the Henry J.N. Taub family, and it was a privilege for her colleagues to work with her as she served as Executive Assistant for the family business interests for well over 31 years. In addition, she loved managing Blue Dolphin Marina for many years.
There is no replacement for Sharon, but family is comforted knowing that she is resting in the arms of Christ at this moment. We would like to invite her family and friends to a visitation Wednesday, March 21st from 5-8pm with funeral services on Thursday, March 22nd at 10a.m. All services will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request a donation to a charity to which you are passionate about.
