Sharon grew up in Saint Charles, IL amongst many aunts and uncles and numerous cousins. Growing up they got together every Sunday for family lunches and dinners. Right after graduation from Mount St. Mary Academy, she traveled to Las Vegas, NV where she met Claude. Together they raised two sons, Andrew and Randall. Wanting a simpler life, they moved to Austin for two years, and ended in Houston, TX, where she spent the last 47 years. While being a team mom for some of her boys’ sports activities, she enjoyed watching them play soccer, football and baseball. Her boys kept her busy. Sharon worked as a legal assistant in a law firm for over 20 years, then got tasked to join Houston Housing Finance Corporation. Where she retired in 2018. She worked days and Claude worked nights, together they made it work.
Sharon often worked on crossword puzzles and did a lot of needle point projects. One of her favorite projects was making Christmas stockings for everyone in the family. Many of the wall decorations in her home were done by needlepoint. Sharon was an avid book reader but loved her magazines as well. When technology came out with iPhones and iPads, Sharon embraced the challenge to learn and was the first to get it. She was a fierce “Words with Friends” competitor and loved “Candy Crush”; “Color Planet” would have to be her go to application on the iPad, she would spend hours doing that. What Sharon never gave up was her love for sewing. She would hem, stitch or patch anything up for anyone, on short notice.
For years, Sharon enjoyed watching college football with Claude. We were all forced to watch games all day on Thanksgiving Day. She was a huge Notre Dame fan. It was without fail; Claude would tease Sharon about her team picks. However, a new distraction came into her life. Her first grandson was born, and Matthew was spoiled rotten. However, all that changed when her granddaughter, Danielle emerged. Her grandbabies were her new obsession. She was their GRAMMY!
She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, an aunt, cousin, a wonderful mother-n-law and a devoted grandmother, as well as a true friend. We will miss her dearly!
