Sheree Jan Williams Schuhmacher passed away on Monday, the 6th of January 2014. She was born on the 14th of December 1954, in Bryan and attended public schools in Denver, Chicago, Dallas and Connecticut. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High school in Dallas and from college at Cal State in Los Angeles. Jan married John Schuhmacher in 1978, and they moved to Texas when John was drafted by the Houston Oilers. They had two children, Amy and Brian, who continue to live in Houston. Jan taught at Cummings Elementary School in Houston for 20 years, until her retirement.
Jan was preceded in death by her brother, Charles D. Williams, Jr.; and her grandparents, Floyd and Audie Hall Williams of Hainesville, and George and Ruby Edmonds Dodd of Quitman. She will be sorely missed by her surviving parents, Charles David Williams and Shirley Dodd Williams of Tyler; her daughter, Amy Schuhmacher Kelley; and her son, Brian Schuhmacher; grandson, Noah Maddox Kelley; and granddaughter, Quinn Louise Schuhmacher all of Houston.
The memorial service is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 22nd of February, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38905.
