

Shirley Kay Carpenter, born August 18, 1950, went to be with the Lord on October 26, 2022, age 72. She was a 1968 graduate of Muleshoe High School in Muleshoe, TX. In 1968 she married James, her husband of 53 years, in Muleshoe, TX, and moved to Houston, TX that same year. She worked as an administrative clerk at several reprographics companies before becoming the secretary and treasurer of her church, The Church at Willow Park in Houston, TX, where she enjoyed a 16-year career.
Shirley was a devoted Christian woman who loved the Lord and serving others. She received her greatest earthly fulfillment by loving and being loved by her family and friends. Shirley is survived by her husband, James Henry Carpenter of Houston, TX; her son and his partner, James Keith Carpenter and Theresa Michelle Burgess of Katy, TX; and her daughter and son-in-law, Rebekah Ann Koski and Michael William Koski of Newton, TX. She is also survived by her brother, Gerald Ray Carpenter of Weatherford, TX; and her four grandchildren, Lillian, Christian, Jonathan, and Kathryn. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Newell Carpenter of Dublin, TX. Shirley’s passing will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
A visitation for Shirley will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at The Church at Willow Park, 12650 N Houston Rosslyn Rd, Houston, TX 77086. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 12650 N Houston Rosslyn Rd, Houston, TX 77086. A committal service will occur Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Houston, TX 77038.
