Shirley Joyce Clark, 94, of Houston, Texas, went to be with the Lord on October 17,2022. She was born in Houston, Texas on September 14,1928 to parents Ruth Viola Blackman and Vester Clell Blackman. Shirley graduated from Aldine High School in 1947. She met the love of her life Curtis Ray Clark in Houston, Texas on a blind date and later married on May 2nd of the same year. She was a member of First Baptist Church of North Houston and had a passion for the Lord and spending time with her family. She was a faithful servant of the Lord blessed with helping others and the gift of gab.
She was preceded in death by her parents Viola and Vester, husband Curtis of 66 years, and three siblings Ann, Bobby and Gloria.
She is survived by her brother in law Clyde; four children, Deborah, Diana, Donald and wife Karla, and Denette; seven grandchildren, David and wife Shari, Kirk and wife Crystal, Lyndsey and husband Miguel, Kasi and husband Kacey, Brent and wife Katrina, Dana and Danielle; fifteen great-grandchildren, Amber and Chase, Austin, Tailer, Ashley and Garret, Kristin and husband Zach, Curtis, Harley, Angel and Paige, Jazna, Tony, Avery, Kylie, Mason, Brent, Aubrey; seven great great-grandchildren, Rylee, Makenna, Thomas, Lillian, Hendrix, Angel, Alaya and numerous other relatives and close friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation Monday, October 24, 2022 at 1pm and a Funeral Service at 2pm in the Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039 followed by a burial at Brookside Memorial Park at 3pm.
