

Shirley Ann (Broussard) Daniel, age 80, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. Born in Port Arthur, Texas, Shirley, aka NANA, lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to her family and community.
Shirley is survived by her beloved family: her oldest son, Jarrod Heath Daniel, and his wife, Denise Daniel, along with their three children, Weston, Zach, and Alyssa, and her great-grandchild, Wryn Wave Daniel. She is also survived by her youngest son, Jeremy Paul Daniel, his wife, Melissa Daniel, and their three children, Britanny, Gabriel, and Sophie Daniel. Additionally, Shirley leaves behind her siblings: sister Sue and her husband, Bob Leslie; sister Debbie and her husband, Danny Ardoin; sister Kathy Cogen; brother Bobbie and his wife, Sharon Broussard; and brother Dwight and his wife, Cheryl Broussard. She is preceded in death by her sister, Darlene Broussard, and her parents, Adele Broussard and Sherley Broussard. Shirley’s “favorite child,” her beloved Tibetan Terrier, Rosie Daniel, also survives her.
Shirley’s professional career was marked by her roles as a Paralegal, HR manager, and Staffing manager at various companies, culminating in her retirement from Tri-Temps in Beaumont, Texas, at the age of 65. Beyond her career, Shirley’s proudest accomplishment was being a devoted caregiver to her mother for 25 years, a role she cherished and was entrusted with by her siblings.
A woman of many passions, Shirley’s greatest love was for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including her love for dogs, working with stained glass and pottery, playing canasta, dominoes, Mahjong, texting her grandchildren, traveling and participating in her Wii bowling league. Family-oriented and selfless, Shirley was always ready to support her two boys and their children in any way possible.
A visitation for Shirley will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 9:00 AM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, Texas 77079. A celebration of life will follow at 10:00 AM, with a catered reception occurring from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
