Shirley Thornton Knowles went home to the Lord on August 23, 2021. She is survived by 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Shirley was a woman of great faith, which sustained her through the rough times as well as the good. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother. She was an excellent seamstress and loved all forms of needlework. She had a passion for cooking, especially baking, and she taught all of her children to cook. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader. She was truly a force to be reckoned with. Our family will miss her dearly.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Peace Lutheran Church, 6435 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, Texas. Visitation will be at 10am. The service will be at 11am. Graveside services will be held at Brookside Cemetery, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas at 1pm.
